Big Bash League 2022-23 commenced from December the 13th with Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars facing off against each other in the opening game. A total of 56 league games are to be played in double round robin format. Each team will play each other twice, home and away, and all sides will play 14 games in this initial phase.
